EMMETT TOWNSHIP

To the qualified electors of Emmett Township:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Primary Election will be held in Emmett Township on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The polls on ELECTION DAY will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The polls for EARLY VOTING will be available Sat., July 25 – Sun., August 2, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The polling location for both election day and early voting is: Emmett Township Hall, 11100 Dunnigan Rd Emmett, MI 48022

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that any qualified elector of Emmett Township who is not already registered may register to vote at the office of the Township Clerk; the County Clerk’s Office; a Secretary of State Branch Office or other designated state agency.  Registration forms can be obtained at www.mi.gov/vote and mailed to the Township Clerk.  Voters who are already registered may update their registration at www.expressSOS.com.

The last day to register in any manner other than in-person with the local clerk is Monday, July 20th, 2026.

After this date, anyone who qualifies as an elector may register to vote in person with proof of residency (MCL 168.497) at the Emmett Township Clerk’s office, located at 11100 Dunnigan Road, Emmett, MI 48022, telephone (810) 384-8070 Ex. 3 at the following times:

  • Regular business hours: Monday 9:00am -12:00pm, Wednesday 1:00pm – 5:00pm, and Thursday 9:00am – 12:00pm.
  • Saturday July 1, 2026 from 9:00am – 5:00pm
  • Election Day, Tuesday August 4, 2026 from 7:00am – 8:00pm

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE Emmett Township electors (not in the Village of Emmett) will be voting on a millage of 1 mill, previously reduced to 0.9795 mill, for a period of four (4) years, 2026 through 2029, inclusive, for the purpose of providing fire protection services.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE Emmett Township electors (not in the Village of Emmett) will be voting on a millage of 1 mill, previously reduced to 0.9795 mill, for a period of four (4) years, 2026 through 2029, inclusive, for the purpose of providing road improvements.

Full text of the ballots can be found at the Emmett Township Hall or a sample ballot may be viewed at www.mi.gov/vote.

Absentee ballots are available for all elections; registered voters may contact the local clerk to obtain an application for an absent voter ballot.

To comply with the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), voting instructions will be available in audio format and in Braille. Arrangements for obtaining the instructions in these alternative formats can be made by contacting the township clerk in advance of the election. All polling locations are accessible for voters with disabilities.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Emmett Township election commission will conduct a Public Logic and Accuracy Test on the electronic equipment that will be used for the August 4, 2026 Primary Election on July 9, 2026 at 2:00pm, at: Emmett Township Hall 11100 Dunnigan Rd, Emmett, MI 48022 telephone (810) 384-8070  Ext 3.  The Public Accuracy Test is open to the public and is conducted to demonstrate that the computer program used to tabulate the votes cast at the election meets the requirements of Michigan election law.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Precinct Canvass for Early Voting for the August 4th, 2026 State Primary Election will take place at 8:00 P.M. at the Emmett Township Hall located at 11100 Dunnigan Rd Emmett, MI 48022
